Oh hi 👋

Welcome to a delightful little blog brought to you by the nerds at Who Gives A Crap.

Why is everyone searching for organic toilet paper?

Why is everyone searching for organic toilet paper?

Picture this – it’s a post-pandemic world and you’re at a dinner party. You excuse yourself to go to the bathroom. When you return, the host asks, “What did you think of the toilet paper? It’s organic!”

We hate to break it to you, but they’re probably (definitely) lying to you. Organic toilet paper doesn’t exist. You probably shouldn’t eat the food they cooked for you either.

Still, for some reason, people are Googling organic toilet paper more than ever. And while ours may not be organic (because that’s not a real thing), we can proudly (humble)brag that our toilet paper is a bunch of other stuff.

Not organic, but 100% recycled

Being 100% recycled is our toilet paper’s claim to fame. Made from post-consumer waste paper (think office paper and textbooks). It's the Who Gives A Crap roll with the lowest environmental impact. Did we mention it’s also biodegradable and looks super duper cute on the back of your loo?

Not organic, but 100% bamboo

Our other super soft roll: bamboo toilet paper. This one’s even more cushy for your tushy while still maintaining its eco-friendly status. We use bamboo because it’s actually a grass, so it grows incredibly fast after harvesting. Plus, it’s biodegradable, so no clogging up the planet and it plays well with most septic systems. We love keeping Mama Earth happy with every wipe.

Not organic, but good for your bum

You won’t find any inks, dyes or rosy scents here. No siree. We like scents best when they’re not synthetic. But unfortunately, the ones used in traditional toilet paper almost always are. So it makes sense to skip the scents, right?

Not organic, but carbon neutral shipping

Sounds fancy because, well, it is. It basically means we pay for carbon offsets that are equal to the carbon we produce, so there are no net carbon emissions in the atmosphere. We’re also working on integrating more renewable energy into our supply chain. (Get into the nerdy details with us here.)

Not organic, but B Corp certified

This tick of approval means we’re certified to meet high standards of social and environmental impact and have been since 2016.

Not organic, but helps reduce deforestation

More than one million trees are cut down every day to make conventional toilet paper.. By using recycled materials and responsibly sourced bamboo alternatives, we’re helping reduce deforestation with every flush. Score!

Not organic, but doing good for the world

Did you know more than 2 billion people don’t have access to loos? Without toilets for filtering waste, communities are more susceptible to diseases. Not to mention, a safe place to do your business is a basic human right. We’re changing that, one bottom at a time. 50% of our profits are donated to help build toilets around the world.
