Who Gives A Better Wipe? Comparing Our Rolls to Caboo

So, you’re on a quest for a better toilet paper roll — one that’s kind to your bum and the planet. In your search for a more sustainable wipe, you’ve likely seen two names pop up: Caboo and Who Gives A Crap.

But what’s the real difference between these two brands offering bamboo toilet paper?

Both companies share a love for saving our precious forests with their TP alternatives, but they have very different stories to tell.

We share everything that matters to an eco-conscious shopper in the brand comparison below. Read on to see what these rolls are made of, how they feel, what they cost, and their impact.

First, get to know Caboo

Caboo focuses on creating “tree-free” paper products from sustainable materials. Their main offering in the bathroom is bamboo toilet paper. As a Canadian-owned company, they have a notable presence in retail stores across Canada and the United States, but you can also find their products on Amazon.

Interestingly, Caboo doesn’t ship orders to Canadian customers directly from their website, which makes their in-store availability particularly important for these shoppers.

Now, meet the friendly competition

If you’re new here, hello! We’re Who Gives A Crap. We started this whole thing for one simple reason: to make Earth-friendly toilet paper that helps build toilets. We donate 50% of our profits to help improve global sanitation and hygiene for the billions of people who still lack access.

We are also a certified B Corp™, which is an intensive third-party endorsement that highlights our commitment to high standards of social and environmental performance. And to make life easier, we deliver it all right to your door with a convenient subscription model or through local retailers.

Compare Caboo vs Who Gives A Crap: toilet paper materials, cost, impact and more

Time to see how Caboo and Who Gives A Crap stack up against each other.

What materials do these brands use?

Both brands offer toilet paper made from 100% bamboo, which is a great choice for the planet. The difference with Who Gives A Crap is that we also offer a super soft 100% recycled paper option, giving you the power to choose the sustainable material that works best for you and your family.

How much do Caboo and Who Gives A Crap cost?

Value is about more than just a price tag — it’s about what you get for your money. Let's compare a 24-pack from both brands, since Caboo only offers this quantity in their online store.

  • Caboo: A 24 pack of 2 ply rolls costs $39.99. With 400 sheets per roll, that comes out to about $1.67 per roll or $0.42 per 100 sheets.

  • Who Gives A Crap: A 24 pack of our premium 3 ply bamboo rolls costs $49. With 370 sheets per roll, that’s about $2.04 per roll or $0.55 per 100 sheets.

But, we also offer a 48 pack of our 3-ply bamboo rolls — which is where our value really shines. The price drops to about $1.56 per roll or $0.42 per 100 sheets.

The feel test: which roll is good for your bum?

This is where that extra ply really counts.

Caboo’s toilet paper is a 2 ply roll. User reviews are generally positive, with many finding it to be a good, reliable option. Some find it less soft than premium brands, though.

Meanwhile, Who Gives A Crap doesn’t mess around when it comes to comfort. Both our 100% bamboo and 100% recycled rolls are a cushy 3-ply, designed for a luxurious, comfortable, and reliable wipe that doesn’t compromise on softness or strength

Don’t just take our word for it — you can see what our customers are saying and decide for yourself.

Getting your goods: convenience and delivery

While Caboo is a Canadian-owned brand, they don't currently ship directly to Canadian homes. Shoppers in the U.S. can order through their online marketplace, though. Additionally, Caboo toilet paper can be found in retail stores across the US and Canada, and on Amazon.

Who Gives A Crap, on the other hand, has plans to bring toilet paper delivery to Canadian residents before the year’s end. Stay tuned for updates by signing up for our email list. We already serve residents in the United States delivers your toilet paper across Canada (and other countries) through our online store

Having a toilet paper subscription conveniently saves you time and money at the grocery store, while giving you peace of mind about never running out of precious rolls. Shoppers in the U.S. can also find us at their local Whole Foods if they’d prefer to pick up our rolls in stores.

Beyond the roll: more sustainable household products

Both companies offer more than just toilet paper, allowing you to bundle other household necessities. Caboo offers a range of other bamboo-based products, including paper towels, facial tissues and flushable wipes

Who Gives A Crap carries 100% recycled paper towels, facial tissues, and trash can liners. In addition, we offer our fan-favourite Dream Cloths — a reusable, machine-washable sponge alternative that holds 13 times its weight in water.

The bigger picture: social and environmental impact

Both brands offer eco-friendly products that are better for the Earth, but only Who Gives A Crap has community impact built right into their business model.

Since the beginning, we’ve set ourselves apart from other sustainable toilet paper companies by donating 50% of our profits to organisations tackling the global sanitation crisis.

Decide which toilet roll is right for you

We’ve given you a lot of information, but it comes down to some simple choices.

Choose Caboo if you...

  • want to support a Canadian-based brand

  • are willing to settle for 2 ply sheets (at a lower price point)

  • don’t need your toilet paper to support nonprofit initiatives

Choose Who Gives A Crap if you...

  • love the idea of a convenient toilet paper subscription

  • value a plushy 3-ply feel with your 100% bamboo or 100% recycled rolls

  • want your purchase to support global sanitation efforts

Conclusion – The choice is about more than just paper

Choosing either of these brands is a great step away from traditional, virgin pulp toilet paper. At the end of the day, the choice is about more than the rolls you reach for during bathroom breaks.

If you care about the environment and how toilet paper impacts climate change, then you probably care about making the world a better place in other ways, too.

With Who Gives A Crap, every roll you buy is part of a bigger movement that aims to give everyone access to a clean, safe toilet. Shop the Bathroom Collection and help us uncrap the world.
