Oh hi 👋

Welcome to a delightful little blog brought to you by the nerds at Who Gives A Crap.

Are you more creative than our Creative Director?

Are you more creative than our Creative Director?

Our Creative Director, Van, is good at a lot of things. Crafting? Not so much, but you didn’t hear it from us.

We’re always amazed by the innovative reuse ideas our community comes up with. They’re fun, creative, delightful and often super simple. Like Van level simple. Like she’d have to be really bad at crafting to fail. So, we picked an easy stamp craft from @mothercould to put Van to the test.

As you might have seen on our Instagram, it didn’t go so well. Here are some spoilers.

We bet you could do better. (No offense, Van.) Here’s how to do it. All you need is an empty TP roll and a hot glue gun.

  1. Take an empty loo roll

  2. Make a pattern on the roll using hot glue

  3. Let the roll dry

  4. Roll your creation in paint or play-doh to show off your stamp!

Tip: If you want to write a word, make sure your draw it backwards (think mirror image) on the roll.

Now for a quick Q&A with Van herself.

On a scale of 1-5 how difficult was this craft?
This is hard to answer. The craft wasn’t hard-hard, but it was hard to do it well (which I didn’t). If I was good at craft, I’d say a 1 because I could do crafts like this in my sleep. With my limited abilities, it was a 3. At least you didn’t make me fold anything.

Do you still hate crafting?
Yes, but I like glue guns. Just thinking back to this craft is giving me the case of the irrits and is making me want to sigh a lot.

Is there anything you hate more than crafting?
Touching cats.

Would you craft on camera again?
I can’t answer this because I’m still irritated with this bad craft memory.
