Oh hi 👋

Welcome to a delightful little blog brought to you by the nerds at Who Gives A Crap.

Bad Loos Are Bad Business: Why Bathrooms Could Be Hospitality Businesses' Blind Spot

Bad Loos Are Bad Business: Why Bathrooms Could Be Hospitality Businesses' Blind Spot

We need to talk about your loo.

We know they’re not always top of the to-do-list when things get busy. But they should be. New research shows that 61% of customers would never return to a restaurant, bar, pub or cafe if the toilet experience was bad.

No matter how good your service is, or how tasty your food is, none of it matters if you have a gross loo.

So as the experts on all things toilets, we’ve come up with a little something to help. Say hello to The Loo-Print – a practical checklist to help venues put more oohs in their loos.

It all comes back to loo

We spoke to hundreds of hospitality big-shots and, honestly, the results surprised even us:

  • 76% of hospitality customers believe that toilet conditions reflect the overall hygiene standards of the venue

  • 71% are more likely to return if the bathroom’s up to scratch

  • 67% would recommend the venue to a friend if it has nice loos

  • 50% would be more likely to leave a tip

  • 61% would never return to or recommend a business after a bad loo experience

That’s a big deal for something as simple as a clean cubicle and well-stocked loo roll.

The Loo-Print

We’ve bundled together our expert tips, tricks and toilet know-how into one easy-to-follow guide. The Loo-Print is your no-fluff checklist to creating five star review-worthy loos.

A better way to do business

Thousands of venues across the UK (over 1,800, but who’s counting?) are already using our toilet paper to boost their bathrooms, while giving back to the planet. If you’re in hospitality and want more bums on seats (and happier ones at that), it’s time to show your loos some love.
